Markus will race in FIA GT with Prospeed Competition. Belgian-based Prospeed is the official works-supported Porsche team in the FIA GT Championship. Markus will drive the team’s new Porsche 911 GT3-RSR with a fellow-Finn, Mikael “Mikko” Forsten. Michelin will be the team’s tyre partner.
“I had two options for this year. I wanted to get a competitive seat either in FIA GT or ALMS and Prospeed came up with the most interesting offer. I know that Ferrari will be very strong, after all, I’ve raced it a couple of times the last two years, but I also know that Porsche will do everything they can to be back on the top. Prospeed is a fairly new team, but it’s main people have tons of experience in GT racing and it’s great to work again with guys I’ve known for years. This level of racing is new to Mikko, but he has shown more than once that he has all the potential needed and I’m confident that we will form a competitive pair. Having partners like Porsche and Michelin makes it even better. We are now waiting to get our car ready and then the work starts.”
