FIA GT - Zolder preview

Markus will race the last European round of the FIA GT Championship together with German Marc Lieb who is one of the most successful Porsche works drivers. Markus' regular teammate in the #60 Prospeed Competition 911 GT3-RSR, Mikael Forsten is unavailable as he is participating in the show jumping World Cup competition in Helsinki.

28-year-old Lieb has raced Porsches since 2000 and has been an official factory driver since 2003. During the last years he has won two times both the FIA GT Championship and Le Mans Series titles. He has also two GT2 class wins in Le Mans 24 Hours and three in 24 Hours of Spa among other successes in Europe and the United States. Lieb has already raced for Prospeed Competition last year in Zolder and this year as the 3rd driver of the #61 in Spa 24 Hours where Collard-Westbrook-Lieb finished 2nd in GT2.

"I enjoyed a lot racing with Wolf Henzler in Spa and it's great to have Marc on my side at Zolder. These factory guys bring a lot of experience with them and are obviously very fast. Our season has been disastrous so far with many technical problems, bad luck and mistakes, but the potential is there as Manu and Richard have shown with their wins in Monza and Nogaro.

I've had three starts in Zolder this year and finished all of them on podium. It would be great to keep that up! The level of FIA GT and especially of the GT2 class is really high, but I'm sure we can get a nice result with Marc on board. The team still has a chance to finish 2nd in the championship, right behind the works-Ferrari team AF Corse and we will do everything in our power to reach that target."
